Delirium, the New York Times bestseller by Lauren Oliver is coming to the world of TV!
If you have not heard of the Delirium series it is about a girl named Lena who lives in a dystopian society where love is considered a disease and at the age of 18 everyone has to have a procedure done to make them unable to love. Lena believes in the program and what it stands for but that all changes when she meets Alex.
The trilogy was very well written and left me wanting more so I am very excited to hear that their will be a tv show. In 2013, FOX originally developed the show and filmed the pilot starring Emma Roberts as the lead role, Lena. In the end, the network didn’t pick up the show to series, but now WIGS and Hulu are bringing its pilot episode online for one month only. The pilot will air on June 20th. Today! At 6pm on hulu! Check out the trailer below:
Reading around online there are some rumours about how true to the story the episode is. It has been rumoured to include characters that aren’t introduced until the second book and that some small details have been changed. It is also been rumoured that the pilot is the whole plot of the first novel. Unfortunately, unless the airing of this pilot does extremely well, which it isn’t rumoured too, they will not be continuing with the series. Personally I just can’t wait to see Alex and Julian portrayed!
Here is the list of the cast:
- Emma Roberts as Magdalena Haloway
- Gregg Sulkin as Julian Fineman
- Daren Kagasoff as Alex Sheathes
- Jeanine Mason as Hana Tate
- Billy Campbell as Thomas Fineman
- Brenda Koo as Ren
